Heritage Landscape Co believe in putting back into the community that has looked after them so well for the last 25 years. We actively take part in environmental and educational projects based around the skills and resources we have to offer.

Making your educational environment project happen

If you are a school, university, local community in Greater Manchester or a business that wishes to focus on educational and environmental projects, then feel free to speak to us anytime about how we can help. We’d love to get involved in your project and help our local community thrive.

We are currently involved with an on-going ecological / educational project for a local primary school :- St Mary’s R.C. Primary, Littleborough, Lancs.

This project is based around transforming a large bland area of grass into a valuable ecological / educational resource.

How this school project is being developed

Heritage Landscape Co carried out a consultation with the members of staff and parent / teachers association on the overall scaled master plan for discussion purposes. Currently the following outdoor spaces and features have been installed.

• A gravel garden with raised timber sleeper planters for aromatic and colourful herbs which can also be used in cooking. Large boulders have been positioned for informal eating.
• A large scale timber pergola entrance has been installed as a main entrance. This provides a framework for colourful and scented climbing plants.
• A “Peace Garden” for outdoor teaching. This incorporates a large circular stone paved area with a semi circular dry-stone wall to provide seating opportunities. Colourful perennial plants to attract butterflies and bees have been planted within this area. The space is enclosed with a grassy mound topped with flowering trees.
